International Artist Residency Pedvale is an established artist residency program located within Pedvale Art Park in western Latvia. Situated approximately two hours from Riga, the residency is part of a unique cultural landscape that combines contemporary art, sculpture, nature, and heritage preservation. The residency operates within a restored 19th-century manor house surrounded by nearly 100 hectares of parkland, offering artists an inspiring environment for creative research, experimentation, and production.

Pedvale Art Park has become an important platform for international artistic exchange, welcoming visual artists, writers, performers, and interdisciplinary practitioners from around the world. Through its residency programs, the organization supports creative development, cultural dialogue, and engagement with both the natural environment and local communities. The residency encourages artists to immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape while pursuing independent projects and exploring new ideas in a peaceful rural setting.

International Artist Residency Pedvale Autumn Residency 2026 (Latvia)

The International Artist Residency Pedvale Autumn Residency 2026 is an international residency opportunity inviting artists and creative practitioners to spend four weeks living and working within the unique environment of Pedvale Art Park in Latvia.

The residency will take place across two separate sessions during October and November 2026 and will host up to nine artists per session. Participants will have the opportunity to focus on their artistic practice while benefiting from a supportive international community of creators working across various disciplines.

The residency aims to foster artistic development, experimentation, and cultural exchange. Artists are encouraged to engage with the surrounding landscape, historical architecture, and artistic atmosphere of Pedvale Art Park. The residency welcomes a diverse group of participants, including visual artists, writers, dancers, performance artists, and interdisciplinary practitioners, creating opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between different creative fields.

Residents are provided with accommodation in a renovated historic manor house and access to studios and workspaces tailored to their artistic needs. While the program primarily supports independent artistic practice, participants may also choose to engage with the local community through exhibitions, workshops, performances, artist talks, or other public activities. Such activities are optional and arranged individually with selected residents.

The residency offers a tranquil setting for focused work, reflection, and creative exploration while allowing artists to connect with an international network of fellow practitioners.

Eligibility

  • Open to international applicants from all countries.
  • Visual artists, writers, dancers, performers, and interdisciplinary practitioners are encouraged to apply.
  • Emerging, mid-career, and established artists are eligible.
  • Individual artists may apply.
  • Artists must be able to attend one of the full four-week residency periods.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a clear artistic practice and submit relevant work samples.

  • Residency Fee: €480 per month

Application Requirements

  • Artist CV and résumé.
  • Proposal letter outlining residency intentions and artistic goals.
  • Preferred residency session.
  • Portfolio or samples of recent work.

Applications are reviewed by the residency selection committee, and all applicants will be notified individually regarding the outcome of their application.
