Organizer Information:

National Sculpture Factory (NSF) and The Guesthouse have partnered to offer this inaugural residency. The Guesthouse is an artist-led initiative that fosters conversation and cross-practice exchange in a domestic setting, while NSF is a systemically significant national resource organization for the fabrication and production of Fine Art.

Applications are open for the International Curator Residency.

This collaborative residency invites an awarded international curator to develop their thinking and methodologies while experiencing the thriving Cork artistic scene. The curator will reside in a nourishing, community-focused atmosphere and gain access to the expertise, machinery, and curatorial enquiry of the NSF.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Emerging curators who can demonstrate a committed practice of enquiry.
  • Experience: Must have a background of exhibition and event production, with demonstrable self-guided methodologies and clear evidence of community interest/social engagement.
  • Mindset: Curators who enjoy working collaboratively with other artists and creatives, and who have a clear interest in Cork and the Munster region.
  • Constraints: Partners are welcome, but the residency is not suitable for children.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Financial Support: A weekly stipend of €250, plus a subsistence contribution of up to €100 per week.
  • Travel Stipend: A contribution of up to €300 for flight and transport to Cork.
  • Accommodation: Residence in a top-floor, self-contained flat in The Guesthouse (all utilities and insurance covered).
  • Workspace & Network: An introduction to the Cork artist community, plus a dedicated workspace within NSF with access to advice, expertise, and machinery if required.

Application Requirements:

To apply, curators must compile the following into a single PDF:

  1. A Cover Letter.
  2. A CV.
  3. A plan detailing how you will approach the 4-week residency period (Note: This plan must include the stipulation of organizing 1 public event before the end of the residency).
  4. 3 Visuals of previous work undertaken (images, video, and sound are all eligible—please test any links in advance).
