Kunstinstituut Melly is inviting applications for the position of Curator of Collective Learning to lead the conceptual direction of the 7th edition of the Collective Learning in Practice (CLiP) program. This is a 12-month contract starting in July 2025.
Kunstinstituut Melly is a contemporary art institution that commissions and presents the work of visual artists and cultural makers through exhibitions, commissions, publications, events and educational programs. With a focus on collective learning, we engage artists and audiences in meaningful dialogue about art’s role in understanding our past, navigating the present, and imagining the future. Public participation is central to our approach, shaping both the process and outcomes of our work.
About the role:
The Curator of Collective Learning will:
- Report to the Director
- Create a conceptual framework for CLiP#7
- Supervise CLiP fellow/s
- Attend team meetings as required
- Engage with local communities and organizations on behalf of the institution.
Requirements
Skills: Strong organizational, writing, and communication abilities; a specific skill to bring to the project; and a collaborative mindset.
Technical & Language Proficiency: Proficient in budget management and digital tools (e.g., Google Drive) with strong English proficiency (Dutch is a plus).
Local Engagement: Must reside in or near Rotterdam to ensure active, on-site participation.
