Organizer Information

Loghaven Artist Residency is a nonprofit residency program located on a 90-acre wooded property in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. Established to support artists through dedicated time, space, and financial resources, Loghaven provides a retreat-style environment where artists can focus on the development of new work. The residency combines rehabilitated historic log cabins with purpose-built studios, creating a setting that encourages creative exploration and professional growth. Beyond the residency period itself, Loghaven continues to support its fellows through ongoing engagement and professional opportunities. The program is funded in part through the support of the Aslan Foundation and is recognized as one of the leading artist residency programs in the United States.

Title & Description

Loghaven Artist Residency 2027

The Loghaven Artist Residency offers artists the opportunity to spend between two and six weeks in a secluded woodland environment dedicated to artistic creation and reflection. The program is designed for artists who are actively engaged in developing new work and who would benefit from uninterrupted time, private accommodation, studio access, and financial support.

Residents live in restored historic log cabins and have access to professional studio facilities. The residency encourages artists to focus on projects already in the creation phase rather than research-only initiatives. Artists join interdisciplinary cohorts, creating opportunities for exchange and dialogue across artistic disciplines while maintaining substantial independent working time.

Loghaven welcomes applications from artists working in writing, visual arts, dance, theater, music composition, architecture, and interdisciplinary practices. Collaborative groups are also eligible to apply.
