Jam Factory Art Center is a contemporary art institution in Lviv, Ukraine, focusing on critical engagement with social and cultural processes. Opened officially in 2023 in a former industrial building, it hosts exhibitions, performative arts, music events, educational programs, and community-oriented projects. Magic Carpets residency at Jam Factory Art Center 2026
Magic Carpets Residency 2026 invites artists to explore how displaced communities in Ukraine rebuild a sense of home through gardens, crafts, food, and social gatherings amidst the ongoing conflict. The residency encourages site-specific projects, land art, community-based activities, and explorations of traditional craft techniques. Artists collaborate with local communities, creating art that fosters interpersonal ties, cultural memory, and collective expression. Outcomes may include installations, performances, research publications, or video work, culminating in a public event such as a festival or collective dinner.

Eligibility
Artists who are EU citizens have the right to reside in the EU, or are from Creative Europe–eligible countries. Experience with community work, knowledge of the Ukrainian context, and openness to trauma-aware approaches are valued. Applicants must be adults (18+).
Program Benefits & Awards
- Artist fee: 1,200 EUR (net)
- Daily allowance: 15 EUR/day
- Production budget: up to 1,500 EUR
- Accommodation: one-bedroom apartment
- Travel support: round-trip costs covered
- Engagement with local communities and mentorship in trauma-informed art practices
