MEDEA Group Exhibition at Kunstkammer
Kunstkammer invites artists to submit work for MEDEA, a group exhibition that approaches the ancient Greek myth of Medea not as a story to be illustrated, but as a field of emotional, psychological, and elemental states. The exhibition is interested in what remains when narrative is stripped away: exile, betrayal, desire, grief, vengeance, maternal force, rupture, transformation, and fate. A submitted work does not need to depict Medea or reference a specific episode of the myth, and its relationship to the exhibition may be indirect — emerging instead through a psychological condition, a state of nature, a bodily sensation, a gesture, a landscape, a material, a change of light, or a charged atmosphere. The exhibition seeks works that engage the myth on a sensual level, where color, surface, scale, rhythm, silence, movement, or physical presence create an emotional encounter before explaining. The stated aim is not to retell Medea's story, but to make its force perceptible in contemporary form. Priority will be given to works that are visually rigorous, emotionally precise, materially convincing, and open enough to resist a single interpretation.
