Organizer Information:
The Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb (MSU), in collaboration with the L’Internationale network. The residency takes place within the project Meeting Point and the international programme Museum of the Commons, focusing on the climate crisis, shared resources, and the role of the museum within local social and environmental ecosystems.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for a One-Month Artistic Residency.
This program invites artists to identify hidden, neglected, or unrecognized resources in the museum’s immediate surroundings and to study them through acts of attention or temporary intervention. Building on the Museum Garden / Edible Museum permaculture project, this residency is strictly oriented toward process, meeting, and exchange, rather than the production of a permanent or exhibitive result.

Eligibility:
- Who: International artists.
- Practice Focus: Artists working with participatory practices, community engagement, and environmental/climate themes.
- Approach: The research should be relevant to the local context and/or participatory (including the local community, users of spaces, and members of the Friends of MSU). It should foster dialogue, reflection, and engagement through small, deliberate gestures rather than the extensive production of new objects.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Financial Support: A participation fee of €1,500 (gross), plus travel expenses up to €500 (gross).
- Accommodation: One month of accommodation at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
- Support & Network: Continuous dialogue and support from the curatorial team, introduction to the local context (Novi Zagreb), and direct connection with local residents, the gardening community, and project partners.
- Resources: Production support and available museum resources.

Application Requirements:
Applicants must submit their application via the online link, consisting of:
- Basic Information.
- A Motivational Letter (free form: text, video, audio, or a combination) presenting your reflections on space, collectiveness, resources, and relations. (Note: They do not expect a finished work proposal, but rather a way of thinking and approach).
- A short biography and description of practice (CV, portfolio, etc.).
