Neutral Ground is a Canadian non-profit artist-run centre and public gallery founded in 1982 in Regina, Saskatchewan, located on Treaty 4 territory. Title & Description
Neutral Ground Director-Curator Position 2026
Neutral Ground is currently accepting applications for a full-time Director-Curator position based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. This leadership opportunity is intended for an experienced arts administrator, curator, or cultural worker interested in shaping the future vision of an established artist-run centre dedicated to experimental and multidisciplinary contemporary art.
The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the organization while leading the development of a dynamic curatorial and organizational vision aligned with Neutral Ground’s ethos and community-centred values. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Director-Curator will play a key role in programming development, exhibitions, artist engagement, fundraising, grant writing, financial management, and strategic planning.
The position combines administrative leadership with curatorial practice, offering the selected candidate opportunities to curate exhibitions, public engagement projects, and artist-centred programming. The role also includes collaboration with artists, community organizations, funding bodies, and the Board of Directors to maintain and expand the gallery’s cultural impact.
Neutral Ground seeks applicants with strong collaborative skills, contemporary art knowledge, curatorial experience, and a demonstrated commitment to equity, accessibility, and decolonial cultural practices. Eligibility
The opportunity is open to national and international applicants with relevant professional experience in curatorial practice, arts administration, or cultural management.
Preferred candidates should demonstrate:
- Post-secondary education in arts, administration, or equivalent experience
- Minimum two years of curatorial and/or arts administration experience
- Experience working collaboratively within arts organizations or independent practice
- Strong organizational and communication skills
