Organizer Information:
Nordisk Kunstnarsenter Dale (NKD). An Artist-in-Residence center located in the village of Dale in Sunnfjord, on the west coast of Norway, dedicated to long-term residencies for visual artists, architects, and designers.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the NKD Artists-in-Residence 2027.
NKD hosts up to five artists at a time for 2-to-4-month residencies, offering space for focused, independent work within a supportive shared community. While there are no formal requirements regarding the final outcome of the residency, residents are expected to give a presentation of their work and participate in an open day for the public.

Eligibility:
- Who: Open to applicants from all countries and backgrounds. (Note: While NKD focuses on Nordic collaborations, a connection to the Nordic region is NOT required to apply).
- Groups/Duos: Joint applications are permitted. (Note: If applying as a duo, the weekly grant is shared, but individual travel expenses are covered for up to two people).
- Family & Pets: Residents are actively welcome to bring a partner, children, and pets (cabins have one to three bedrooms).
- Accessibility: The center is currently working to improve accessibility and is exploring options for wheelchair-accessible cabins and studios.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Stipend: A monthly grant of NOK 11,000.
- Travel: Travel reimbursement up to NOK 5,000.
- Accommodation: A private house/cabin.
- Workspace: A spacious private studio, large common areas, and access to shared, well-equipped facilities (wood workshop, ceramics kiln, industrial sewing studio, printmaking press, and analog darkroom).

- CV Limits: The CV must be a PDF and is strictly limited to a maximum of 2 pages.
- Portfolio Limits: * Maximum of 6 files total (PDF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, or GIF).
- Maximum of 10 MB per file.
- Maximum of 2 pages per file. (Any additional pages will be strictly ignored by the jury).
- Links: Video/audio links (Vimeo, YouTube, SoundCloud) may be included inside the PDF. However, you strictly MUST NOT submit links to personal websites or online portfolios.
- Required Written Texts: Project Proposal (Max 2000 characters), Motivation (Max 1000 characters), and an Artist Statement describing current practice.
