The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) is a leading art institution located in Taichung, Taiwan. Dedicated to the research and preservation of Taiwanese art, the museum fosters international exchange by opening its institutional resources to global professionals for research and creative projects.

Title & Description:

Applications will open on March 16, 2026, for the NTMoFA International Residency Program 2026.

This program invites international arts professionals—including artists, curators, art historians, critics, theorists, and museum professionals—to conduct research or creative projects at the museum. NTMoFA particularly welcomes proposals that engage with its collections, Taiwanese art history, Taiwanese artists, and Technology Art.

The residency will take place from September 3 to October 22, 2026, with a required duration of 30 to 50 days. Selected residents are expected to organize at least one public program every 15 days (e.g., workshops, lectures), present a final public presentation, and submit a final report.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Non-Taiwanese nationals (must not hold ROC citizenship).

  • Experience: Must have at least five years of relevant professional experience.

  • Status: Must not be currently enrolled students.

  • Knowledge: Demonstrated familiarity with NTMoFA, its collections, and Taiwanese culture.

  • Language: Basic communication ability in English or Chinese is required.

  • Stipend: A daily residency allowance covering research and living costs, determined by academic status:

    • NTD 5,350 (General Researchers/Artists).

    • NTD 7,130 (Associate Professors).

    • NTD 8,915 (Professors).

  • Insurance: Reimbursement up to NTD 5,000.

  • Workspace: Free studio space and access to the NTMoFA Art Library.

  • Access: Conditional access to collection storage facilities for research.
