Open Call for Visual Arts Exhibition Projects 2026
The CCU invites artists, curators, and researchers to submit exhibition proposals to be developed throughout 2026. This initiative seeks to enrich the local art scene, encourage critical reflection on contemporary and historical practices, and provide high-quality cultural experiences for diverse audiences. The call is structured into three distinct categories to support various professional levels and research-driven projects.
Categories
The call is open to the following disciplines within Visual Arts:
- Curatorial Projects: Research-based exhibitions focusing on contemporary or historical archives.
- Artist Projects: Individual or collective visual art exhibitions.
- Emerging Artist Projects: Proposals from recent graduates focused on contemporary production.
Eligibility
This call is open to both Argentine and foreign nationals. Specific criteria apply to each category:
- Curators/Researchers: Must present a solid curatorial hypothesis and a defined corpus of works/documents.
- Artists: Must demonstrate a sustained professional practice and discursive coherence in their work.
- Emerging Artists: Specifically for those who have graduated from undergraduate or postgraduate visual arts programs within the last 10 years.
Program Benefits & Awards
Selected projects receive financial support via a managed subsidy for production and fees:
- Curatorial Projects: One selected project receives $2,500,000.
- Artist Projects: One selected project receives $1,800,000.
- Emerging Artist Projects: Two selected projects receive $600,000 each.
- Additional Support: Exhibition space, human resources for mounting, and institutional promotion.
- Note: Funds are managed through the UNC via budget requests and direct payments to providers.

Application Requirements
- Curatorial/Conceptual Statement: Between 300 and 2,000 words (depending on the category).
- Portfolio/Images: 3 to 5 images per artist (reference or selected works).
- Biographies: Short biographical profiles for all participants.
- Exhibition Design: Floor plans and mounting layout (based on provided CCU blueprints).
- Technical Rider: An Excel sheet detailing work dimensions, techniques, insurance values (avalúo), and equipment needs.
- Estimated Budget: Itemized production costs and fees (no single item can exceed $400,000).
