Wild Bits is an exhibition project that seeks points of contact between people, technology, and nature. Hosted at Maajaam in Estonia, the initiative is known for exhibiting large-scale outdoor technological art. Following the success of their 2024 exhibition, Wild Bits is transitioning into a triennial format, with the next major edition planned for 2027. The residency offers a unique environment where artists can engage deeply with the natural landscape while utilizing available workspaces and tools.Title & Description:
This open call invites proposals for the Wild Bits Residency 2026. The organizers are seeking installations, interventions, or processes to be placed in natural landscapes. The central theme challenges artists to explore the human condition in a contemporary technological society. Selected artists will spend approximately three weeks at Maajaam to produce their artwork using the facilities provided. The residency serves as a production phase for works that align with the vision of the upcoming 2027 triennial.Category:

The call is open to individual artists or artist groups.-
Groups: Maajaam can accommodate and cover the travel costs for up to 2 people per group.

Criteria: Selection is based on the suitability of the idea, feasibility of the production plan, the project’s ability to relate to outdoor conditions, and its environmental impact.
Program Benefits & Awards:

Artist Fee: €3,000 (per collective, gross salary, taxes included).

Production Budget: Up to €5,000.

Travel Grant: Up to €350 for artists within Europe; up to €700 for artists outside the EU.

Accommodation & Board: Accommodation in the Maajaam residency house is provided, along with two meals per day covered by the host.
