Short Description
From 21 to 25 May 2026, the Schwankhalle and the Theater Bremen will once again host the Performing Arts Festival OUTNOW! The festival, which was founded in 1994 in the Schwankhalle, has been held biennially in cooperation with Theater Bremen since 2013.
Eligibility
OUTNOW! presents artists, groups, and collectives from all over Europe who are at the beginning of their professional careers. A corresponding educational background is not required. Individual artists, directors, groups and collectives who have not been producing their own work for much more than five years are invited to submit their current productions for the OUTNOW! Festival 2026.
Contributions from other disciplines such as media art, visual arts and music that have a performative or theatrical reference are just as welcome as performances in public space and site-specific projects, works for young or cross-age audiences and productions that artistically deal with questions of participation.

Program Benefits & Awards
Travel and transport costs, accommodation and meals in Bremen during the festival period will be covered. In addition, an expense allowance is paid.
