Title & Description

Perspectives on Orientation

Perspectives on Orientation is a juried group exhibition exploring how people understand and navigate the world around them. The call asks artists to consider the systems, tools, and perspectives that help us establish where we are, where we have been, and where we might go.

Artists may respond to concepts such as maps, cartography, scientific models, mathematics, weather patterns, navigation, or other real and imaginary systems of orientation. Submitted works should transform these ideas into visually compelling artworks that encourage curiosity and invite viewers to reconsider their own perspectives.

Works are selected based on conceptual strength, relationship to the theme, technical command, overall execution, and compliance with submission requirements.

Categories

  • All media are eligible. The exhibition accepts both 2D and 3D artwork.

Eligibility

The call is open to artists working in any medium. No specific nationality, age group, or demographic restriction is stated in the provided guidelines.

Submitted work must be new and original in concept, professionally executed, properly presented, and available for the entire exhibition period. Artists may not submit work already committed to another exhibition.

Program Benefits & Awards

Selected artists will participate in a juried group exhibition at The Gallery at Graphite from October 9 to November 28, 2026. Accepted artists receive the opportunity to publicly exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting and participate in the exhibition's opening reception.

All artwork must be offered for sale. For sold works, 70% of the sale price goes to the artist and 30% is retained by Graphite as commission.

No cash prize, residency, travel funding, accommodation, or mentorship is specified in the call.

Application Fee

  • The entry fee is $20 for up to three different artworks. The fee is required when submitting and is non-refundable.
