Photographic Residency Céret 2026/2027 – Lumière d’Encre
This residency invites a professional photographer, photojournalist, or visual artist to explore the theme “Water”, reflecting on its social, ecological, and cultural significance. Over a period of 8–12 weeks, participants will develop a research-driven photographic project, rooted in the local context of Céret, a border territory blending urban and rural landscapes between France and Spain.
The residency aims to:
- Support experimentation and critical reflection on water as a vital resource.
- Foster production of a coherent visual narrative in line with contemporary environmental and cultural issues.
- Enable public engagement through exhibitions, workshops, and presentations.
- Provide opportunities for pedagogical interventions, including school or community workshops.
Throughout the residency, participants benefit from technical support, artistic guidance, and a networked context to develop their projects for both exhibition and broader dissemination.

Eligibility
- Open to professional photographers and visual artists (including photojournalists and documentarists).
- Artists of any nationality who can physically participate in Céret, France.
- Candidates must demonstrate a prior portfolio and engagement with photographic or visual practice.
Program Benefits & Awards
- Residency grant: €3,900 gross.
- Travel allowance: Up to €800 (on receipt).
- Meal allowance: Up to €400 (on receipt).
- Production and printing budget: Up to €2,500.
- Additional compensation for pedagogical and mediation activities (workshops, school projects).
