Organizer Information:

Polycopies & Co. is a Paris-based association established in 2022 to bring together collectors and fans of photography books. Their primary mission is to promote and support photographers by funding the publication of their work.

Title & Description:

Applications are open year-round for the Polycopies & Co. Publishing Support Grant.

This grant is designed to showcase the photographic work of a professional photographer who needs financial support to produce a published book (a monograph) or to contribute to a photography project that will ultimately result in a book.

(Exclusively for projects leading to a published photobook/monograph).

Eligibility:

  • Who: French or international professional photographers applying as individuals.
  • Publisher Agreement: The photographer must already have an agreement with a publisher (this can be a formal contract, a letter of intent, or a recommendation).
  • Copyright: The applicant must be the sole author of the photographs and the sole owner of all associated exploitation rights.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Funding: Grants are awarded in the amounts of €2,500, €5,000, or €10,000, depending on the project’s specific budget requirements.
  • Timeline: For book projects, the grant is paid upon signing the contract with the publisher. For projects in progress, the grant is paid in the January following the jury’s decision.

Application Requirements:

Applications must be submitted as a single PDF document (maximum 50 MB). Files must be named in the format SURNAME_FIRSTNAME.pdf. WeTransfer links are not accepted. The PDF must include:

  1. A CV and short biography.
  2. A portfolio of the photographs intended for publication (with captions) and/or a portfolio representative of the photographer’s overall work.
  3. A statement of intent from the photographer.
  4. A letter of intent from the publisher representing the project.

Obligations for Winners:

Selected photographers must complete the project within two years, include a credit line acknowledging Polycopies & Co., and provide up to 5 copies of a limited edition (or a print) for the association's benefactors, plus 1 archive copy.
