Staff Member – Projects and Visual Arts

The position combines visual arts programming, exhibition coordination, project development and cultural mediation. The successful candidate will work with other programmers to develop and implement Ter Dilft's annual visual arts programme, as well as location-based and multimedia projects.

The role requires switching between several functions, including programmer, curator, facilitator, expert and mediator. The position also involves coordinating the Maakplaats, a volunteer-driven creative hub operated jointly by the library and cultural centre.

A particular focus in the coming years will be on young people and youth culture, making an understanding of contemporary and experimental cultural practices important to the role.

Position & Tasks

  • Develop and coordinate the visual arts programme with the other visual arts programme.
  • Establish contacts with artists and other professionals in the visual arts sector.
  • Coordinate exhibitions and accompanying activities from planning through implementation.
  • Develop and realize location-based and multimedia artistic projects.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at young people and youth culture.
  • Coordinate the operation of the volunteer-based Maakplaats together with a library colleague.
  • Manage contracts, agreements, reporting, consultations and budget follow-up.
  • Contribute to communication materials, including website and brochure texts, printed materials and publicity resources.
  • Coordinate colleagues, volunteers and artists during exhibitions and projects.
  • Work across artistic, curatorial, organizational and facilitation roles.

Eligibility

  • Hold a bachelor's degree.
