Short Description:
Hangar, in collaboration with Pivô and with the support of the Ramon Llull Institute, is offering a three-month Pivô Research Residency in São Paulo for an artist based in Catalonia. This residency, taking place from August to October 2025, provides a unique opportunity for the artist to engage with the dynamic artistic and cultural environment of São Paulo. Pivô Research fosters experimentation and production while encouraging collaboration and dialogue among local and international artists, curators, and other cultural agents.
Application Requirements:
Applications must be submitted via email, containing personal details, a biography, CV, project summary, and a detailed work plan. The deadline for submissions is April 28, 2025, and the selected artist will be notified by mid-May 2025.

Program Benefits or Awards:
The residency offers mentorship, individual guidance, workshops, guest professional meetings, and group sessions to encourage collective learning and critical support. Participants will be able to access a range of resources, including a studio, living area, Pivô Library, and a shared kitchen, along with technical assistance for small projects. The residency culminates in a public presentation of the research at Hangar. Residents will also be asked to submit a final report and use the provided logos in project communications.
The selected artist will receive a €1500 fee, €1500 for living expenses, €1000 for project production, a round-trip economy ticket from Barcelona to São Paulo, and accommodation. The program also offers a rich schedule of public activities, including masterclasses, workshops, and debates.
