Sónar Festival is a globally renowned annual event based in Barcelona, Spain, celebrated for its pioneering integration of music, creativity, and digital culture. Sónar+D 2026 — Open Call to Exhibit
The Sónar+D 2026 Open Call invites creators, artists, collectives, studios, and tech-oriented companies to submit projects — including prototypes, installations, and interactive artworks — for exhibition at Sónar+D 2026. Selected works will be showcased alongside some of the most forward-thinking digital creativity and innovation projects within the internationally acclaimed Sónar+D programme. Activities at Sónar+D include interactive installations, multimedia exhibits, digital art projects and creative tech presentations, all staged within an exciting multidisciplinary festival environment in Barcelona on 18–19 June 2026.

Eligibility

  • International artists, creators, and collectives.
  • Companies, studios, and start-ups with projects that live at the intersection of art, technology, and digital culture.
  • Individuals or entities from anywhere in the world.
  • Only submissions aligned with the festival’s multidisciplinary and interactive ethos will be considered. Projects involving DJ sets or live performance (not exhibition formats) are explicitly excluded.

Program Benefits & Awards

  • A €800 fee for exhibition participation for eligible artist/creative projects.
  • Exhibition space at Sónar+D 2026, including coverage of exhibition-relevant costs up to €1,000 (e.g., transport of exhibits, display equipment).
  • Accommodation support for projects whose teams are not based in Barcelona during the festival.
  • Daily meals during exhibition days for up to 5 members per project.
  • VIP festival access (Participant accreditation) to both Sónar+D and the wider Sónar Festival for up to 5 people per project.
  • VIP invitations for collaborators (up to 3 additional passes per project). For companies, studios, and startups:
  • Guaranteed exhibition space at La Llotja de Mar.
  • Daily meals and VIP access remain included, although project fees are not provided for corporate entries.

  • Project title and description.
  • Project dossier — including conceptual and formal descriptions, supporting visuals and/or video, and an exhibition proposal adapted to Sónar+D spaces.
  • Biography or CV of the artist, collective, or company.

Additional Details

  • Projects must be physically present throughout exhibition hours and adequately staffed by at least one representative during open times.
  • Technical and spatial constraints apply — e.g., nothing may be fixed to walls or ceilings, and sound emission must be through headphones if applicable.
  • The festival is not responsible for material/equipment security in the exhibition area.
  • DJ performances and live performance proposals are excluded from this call; submissions containing such elements will be removed.
