Organizer Information:
SCAN Tarragona International Festival of Photography, organized by the Tarragona City Council, is aimed at creators from all over the world who use photography as an essential and preferred means of expression.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the Talent Latent 2026 exhibition.
The 2026 theme is METAMORPHOSIS. Inspired by Kafka’s classic work, the exhibition invites emerging photographers to explore the metamorphic condition of the present. It seeks projects that address transformations affecting individuals, communities, and environments through analogue, digital, and expanded practices, proposing new perspectives to understand the contemporary world.

(Primarily photographic projects, though series hybridized with other creative languages are welcome).
Eligibility:
- Who: Emerging artists and collectives aged 18 or older.
- Scope: Open to creators of any nationality.
- Languages: Projects must be submitted in Catalan, Spanish, or English.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Exhibition Fee: A one-time payment of €500 (including taxes) for copyright and exhibition fees per selected photographic series.
- Production: SCAN handles and covers the cost of making photographic prints for the exhibition in a trusted professional lab.
- Opening Event Hospitality: Selected artists are invited to the opening and will receive one night’s accommodation (breakfast included), admission to the catered opening event, and admission/lunch for the "Full Contact" professional meeting.
- Publication: Selected artists will be featured in the official Talent Latent exhibition catalogue.
Application Fee & Program Costs:
- Application Fee: Free to apply.
- Travel: Artists are entirely responsible for their own travel expenses if they choose to attend the opening events.
- Artwork Return: If an artist wishes to have the exhibition prints returned to them after the show, they must cover the collection and shipping costs.
Application Requirements:
Applicants must complete the online form with the following materials:
- Personal contact details and a brief biography.
- The title of the project and a brief explanation (max 250 words).
- A ZIP file (max 30 MB) containing up to 20 photographs from the same series. (Digital photos must be min. 1,300 pixels on the shortest side, in .jpg format, with an embedded RGB color profile).
- An optional PDF with complementary information to facilitate the jury’s understanding of the project.
