The World Heritage Residence/Scholarship is an international residency program established in 2018 by the Regional Assembly in Gävleborg. It invites cultural creators and researchers from around the world to connect the UNESCO World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with other World Heritage sites through artistic, cultural, or research-based projects.

Eligibility: Open to researchers, artists, and cultural actors globally who have an idea related to the UNESCO World Heritage list, specifically linking the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland to other World Heritage sites.
Theme: The focus is on projects that connect the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with other World Heritage sites in an artistic, cultural, or research context.
How to Apply: Submit the completed application form (pdf) which must be specific about your project idea. Incomplete applications will be considered invalid. (The application form is available on the website link.)
Submission Requirements: Complete the application form and provide detailed information about your project. Ensure all fields are answered.
Selection Process: The scholarship will be awarded based on the submitted project idea and its connection to the World Heritage theme. Incomplete applications will be disqualified.
Program Benefits: • One month residency at one or two of the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland. • A grant of 50,000 SEK to support the project. • Travel expenses to and from Sweden. • Access to a car for the duration of the residency. • Accommodation in either Kristofers or Erik-Anders farmhouses, with varying facilities.
