V I D E O S O U N D A R C H I V E (Founded by artists Debbie YJ Lin and Bridget Moreen Leslie). A working digital archive designed to foster connections among artists working in video and sound, offering a space to experiment and share art without the pressure of social media "likes" or complex art jargon.

Title & Description:

Applications are open for Season 16 (S16).

Rather than a traditional festival or exhibition, this platform creates a mindful space for video and sound art. Each season highlights still images from selected artists on the archive's website. When a visitor clicks the image, it links directly back to the artist's own website or preferred video platform, encouraging visibility in the artist's own digital environment. Instead of a standard artist statement, selected artists will complete a short, 3-question "micro-interview" to share the ideas behind their work.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Open to artists worldwide.
  • Medium: Submitted works MUST include both your original video and your original sound in the exact same piece.
  • Length: Works must have a maximum running time of 10 minutes.
  • Copyright & Collaborators: Artists are fully responsible for all audio and visual copyright compliance. If you are not the only creator, you must list all collaborators or clearly list any public domain/open-source materials used.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Digital Exhibition: Your work will exist indefinitely in the Season 16 archive.
  • Direct Traffic: The archive links directly to your own website, driving audience traffic to your personal platform.
  • Micro-Interview: An opportunity to share your creative process through a published three-question interview.

Application Requirements:

  • Submission Format: You MUST provide a link to your work (via your website, Google Drive, Vimeo, etc.). The organizers will NOT download any video files.
  • Still Image: You must provide a link to a single still image (a paused moment from your video) for review.

Complete and submit the short Google Form provided on the archive's website.

Key Dates:

  • Application Deadline: April 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (PT).
  • Notification of Results: May 8, 2026.
