Overview
Founded by Rajasthani fine artist Vagaram Choudhary and co-hosted in partnership with Canadian artist and curator Monique of Hinge Arts Projects (now under the umbrella of the Hinge Arts Projects Foundation), Farm Studio is an independent, rural artist residency, exhibition space, and community cultural center located near Andore Village in Rajasthan, India. Operating for over a decade, the facility is set within an open agricultural and desert landscape, featuring traditional individual lodging huts and rooms, indoor studio buildings, outdoor open-air studio areas, and access to the nearby Hinge Arts Space gallery in Andore Village.
Mission
Farm Studio aims to unlock the creative potential of cross-cultural exchange, dialogue, and collaboration between local Indian rural artists, traditional artisans, and international contemporary practitioners. By providing a quiet environment free from urban distractions, the initiative seeks to promote, celebrate, and preserve local Rajasthani artistic and cultural identity. Grounded in community engagement and intercultural understanding, Farm Studio strives to broaden local art appreciation while providing visiting international creators with an authentic, unmediated connection to rural Indian heritage and craftsmanship.
