Overview
Founded in 2002 as an exhibition and cultural space and launching its Artist-in-Residency (A-I-R) program in 2006, Residencia Corazón is a pioneer independent residency center located in the city center of La Plata (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina). Directed by artists Rodrigo Mirto and Juan Pablo Ferrer, the residency is housed in a full-facility home that combines shared living spaces with 24-hour studio access. Operating in English and Spanish, the program holds institutional support from the Argentine National Department of Culture, the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires, the Municipality of La Plata, and the National University of La Plata.
Mission
Residencia Corazón aims to provide a warm, non-institutional refuge where creators can retreat from daily noise to focus deeply on their practice, exploration, and creative journeys. Grounded in personal exchange, emotional connection, and professional support, the organization seeks to bridge visiting artists with the local art community, academic networks, and public institutions of La Plata and the broader Latin American region. It actively supports unpretentious, experimental, and non-linear artistic processes where trial, error, and growth are celebrated.
