Art Athina is organized by the Panhellenic Association of Art Galleries and remains the largest annual visual arts event in Greece. Established in 1993, it is one of Europe's longest-running art fairs. Directed by Antonis Kourkoulos, the fair provides a platform for contemporary Greek and international art. For its 33rd year, Art Athina relocates to Onassis Ready, a dynamic industrial space in Agios Ioannis Rentis, marking a new chapter for the Athens art scene while maintaining its core focus on curated contemporary production.

This international open call invites established and emerging galleries to participate in Greece's flagship contemporary art fair. The 2026 edition emphasizes curated solo and group presentations that reflect current global artistic trends. By moving to an industrial venue, the fair offers a unique spatial framework that encourages novel exhibition designs and immersive visitor experiences. Selection is conducted by an expert committee, ensuring a high-quality overview of the contemporary market. Galleries are invited to submit ambitious proposals that engage with the diverse audience of Athens and the wider Mediterranean region.

Eligibility

  • Open to International and domestic galleries with a physical showroom and continuous exhibition activity.
  • Two main sectors: Main/Design for established galleries and Emerging/Spaces for new-generation international galleries and independent spaces.
  • Proposals must prioritize solo shows or tightly curated group presentations.
  • All applicants must be over 18 years of age (representative of the gallery).

Fees

  • Application Fee: Free to apply.
  • Booth Fees (Main/Design):
    • 20 sq.m: €3,200 + VAT
    • 30 sq.m: €4,800 + VAT
    • 40 sq.m: €6,400 + VAT
  • Booth Fees (Emerging/Spaces):
    • 12 sq.m: €1,920 + VAT
  • Payment Terms: 40% advance upon contract signing (July 1); 60% balance by September 10, 2026.

Application Requirements

  • Completed Application Form: Including gallery history and booth preference.
  • Exhibition Proposal: Maximum 250 words detailing the theme and artists.
  • Supporting Documentation: * Artist CVs and list of represented artists.
    • Gallery exhibition program for the previous two years.
    • Digital portfolio of proposed works.
  • Submission Method: Via email to exhibitors@art-athina.gr.
