ArtAscent invites artists and writers to explore the concept of “RESOLUTIONS” in creative ways—whether personal, societal, or abstract. This theme is open to varied interpretations, encouraging unique artistic and literary expressions.

 

Information and Application Details:

  • Deadline: February 28, 2025.
  • Application Process:
    1. Complete the online application form.
    2. Submit the appropriate fee via PayPal (details below).
    3. Sign up for the ArtAscent newsletter for notification of results.

  • Application Fees:

    Visual Art Submission Fees:

    • 1 image – $25
    • 2-3 images – $45
    • 4-8 images – $85

    Written Art Submission Fees:

    • 1 story/poem up to 400 words – $20
    • 1 story/poem up to 900 words – $40
    • 1 story/poem up to 1,800 words – $80

    Combo Set (Art + Writing):

    • 1 story/poem up to 400 words + 1-2 images – $65

    Payments are made via PayPal, and applicants must ensure that their payment details match their application.

 

Eligibility:

  • Open to artists and writers worldwide, 18 years and older.
  • Acceptable visual art: paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, digital, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, etc. (no video or sound).
  • Acceptable written art: fiction, poetry, short stories (up to 1,800 words).
  • Previously published works allowed, provided they haven’t appeared in ArtAscent before.

 

Theme:
“Resolutions” — submissions can be realistic, abstract, surreal, or unexpected, reflecting personal, societal, or creative resolutions.

 

How to Apply:

  • Complete the application form and pay the submission fee through PayPal.
  • Fees vary based on submission type and quantity, ranging from $20 to $85.
  • Combo sets (art + writing) are also available.

 

Submission Requirements:

  • High-quality images for visual art.
  • Written pieces up to 1,800 words.
  • All works must be original creations.
  • Artists retain copyright, while ArtAscent has rights for promotional use.

 

Selection Process:

  • Submissions are reviewed by a jury based on their relation to the theme.
  • Diverse interpretations are encouraged.
  • Notifications via newsletter around 5-6 weeks after the deadline.

 

Program Benefits or Awards:

  • Selected artists and writers are featured in the ArtAscent Art & Literature Journal and online for at least two years.
  • Additional exposure on social media platforms.
  • Distinctions:
    • Gold, Silver, Bronze Artists/Writers: Featured in the journal with a professional review and profile.
    • Distinguished Artists/Writers: Featured in the journal with selected works.
