Organizer Information:
Hyundai Artlab launched Artlab Editorial in 2022. Driven by the belief that platforms for critical art writing are essential to a thriving global art ecosystem, the initiative seeks to spark meaningful dialogue, cultivate empathy, and facilitate collaborations within contemporary art.
Title & Description:
Applications are now open for the 2026 Artlab Editorial Fellowship.
This remote fellowship supports two art writers whose texts on contemporary visual art exercise "critical empathy"—balancing care and critique, the interrogative and intuitive, and the perceptive and imaginative. The selected fellows will be expected to produce three 800-word web-based articles (one every other month) between May and December 2026. Throughout the process, fellows will receive regular one-on-one mentorship, guidance, and development sessions from esteemed Fellowship Advisors (Mira Dayal and Gary Zhexi Zhang) and Artlab’s Editor (Shannon Lee).
