This grant is a joint cultural initiative co-funded by the French State / Ministry of Culture – DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Regional Council of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The program is structurally developed in partnership with Astre, the regional network for plastic and visual arts. Grounded in solidarity, ecological transition, and cultural rights, the initiative aims to strengthen the local artistic ecosystem and promote gender equity and territorial inclusion across France.

Title & Description

Cooperation, Creation and Territories 2026 (Coopération, création et territoires).

This project grant is designed to stimulate ambitious cooperative networks within the contemporary visual arts sector. Funding targets multi-partner experimentation that consolidates individual artistic career tracks, fosters regional cross-pollination, and respects the cultural specificities of local landscapes. Projects are evaluated on their adherence to ethical codes, social responsibility, and fair remuneration models for all participating creators and independent workers.

Eligibility

  • Individuals: Professional visual arts practitioners (artists, curators, art critics, researchers) who maintain a profound connection to the region (born, residing, working, or graduated in Nouvelle-Aquitaine).
  • Entities: Non-profit associations, artists' collectives, municipal/local authorities, cooperatives, and commercial galleries with their registered headquarters located in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.
  • Cooperation Framework: Projects must structurally mobilize and implement a concrete cooperation network linking at least three (3) distinct operational partners.
  • Timeline Constraint: The proposed project or phase must commence strictly after the formal date of application submission and can span a maximum duration of 24 months following the grant notification.

Program Benefits and Awards

  • Financial Funding: Subsidies are capped at a maximum of €20,000 per project.
  • Eligible Expense Coverage: Funding directly covers artist fees (remuneration), travel expenses, production costs, archival research, mediation workflows, multi-channel communication, and administrative coordination.
  • Institutional Support: Evaluation by an elite committee comprising state DRAC officers, regional representatives, Astre network volunteers, and unionized visual artists.

Application Requirements

All application dossiers must be prepared in French and submitted strictly via email. Submissions must include the following separate PDF files, strictly formatted according to the official naming rules:

  2. Letters of Intent: A dedicated, signed letter from each operational partner outlining the exact nature of their involvement. Named: ProjectLeaderName-partenaire1.pdf

  5. Financial Sheet: A fully balanced cost and project funding breakdown sheet.
  6. Administrative Records: An original Bank Identity Statement (RIB) and a valid French SIRET certificate dated within the last 3 months.
