The BETA PUBLICA Association is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to the development, promotion, and visibility of contemporary choreographic creation. Through its annual showcase and ongoing digital presence, BETA PUBLICA promotes contemporary Dance practices while fostering audience engagement with the creative and production processes behind choreographic works. The XIII Edition of the International Choreographic BETA PUBLICA Showcase continues this mission by offering an international platform for short-format choreographic works presented in a live stage context in Madrid.

XIII BETA PUBLICA International Choreographic Showcase 2026

The BETA PUBLICA Association invites choreographers worldwide to submit works for the XIII International Choreographic Showcase, to be held in Madrid, Spain, on 5 September 2026.

This Festival-style showcase is dedicated to contemporary choreographic experimentation and the presentation of short-format Performance works that explore innovative approaches to movement, staging, and interdisciplinary expression.

Selected choreographers will present completed or revised works of up to 15 minutes in a live stage environment. Works may incorporate Multimedia, theatrical elements, video, circus, or other hybrid artistic languages, provided that contemporary dance remains the core expressive medium.

The program aims to highlight emerging choreographic voices and encourage creative diversity, including experimental and cross-disciplinary approaches to Interdisciplinary Arts and stage-based creation.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open internationally. Eligible applicants include:

  • Choreographers worldwide

  • Dance companies and collectives
  • Emerging and established choreographers

Additional requirements:

  • Works must be original or revised choreographic pieces
  • Maximum duration: 15 minutes
  • No restriction on the number of performers
  • Works must be suitable for a conventional stage setting

Priority consideration is given to:

  • World premieres
  • Spain premieres

Travel and accommodation support is available for non-local participants.

Program Benefits & Awards

Selected choreographers will receive:

  • €300 participation Artist Fee
  • Professional photographic documentation
  • Video recording of the performance for promotional use
  • Travel support:
    • €200 (within Spain outside Madrid)
    • €400 (international participants outside Spain)
  • One-hour rehearsal and technical setup slot
  • Promotional visibility through BETA PUBLICA platforms
  • Priority consideration for future Festival opportunities (e.g., Una Mañana en Danza)

This is a non-competitive showcase focused on artistic visibility and professional dissemination rather than awards.
