Organizer Information
Collective Z is an independent, contemporary art gallery and project space located in the Lower East Side art district of New York City. Founded on the conviction that underrepresented artistic voices deserve dedicated market visibility, the gallery mounts bold, emotionally intelligent exhibitions focusing on abstraction and psychological intensity. Camp Z serves as Collective Z's specialized commercial vehicle and accessible art branch, operating alongside their Honesty Brutal label to produce commercial editions and curated presentations.
Title & Description
Camp Z Art Fair + Direct-to-Consumer Program: Roster Admission
Camp Z by Collective Z has launched an international open call for its year-round artist roster, bridging the gap between independent studio production and the global art market. This application serves as an entry point into a multi-channel commercial program rather than a single exhibition. Admitted roster artists are directly considered for two separate commercial avenues: curated booth presentations at major seasonal art fairs (spanning New York and beyond) and a direct-to-consumer pipeline featuring time-bound, limited-edition print drops and wearable merchandise like clothing and leather goods. Collective Z takes complete administrative ownership of the commercial process end to end, managing curation, booth layout, fair logistics, physical installation, staffing, product manufacturing, and final buyer fulfillment, allowing selected artists to focus entirely on their studio output.
Categories
The open call actively reviews work across multiple visual and material disciplines, specifically seeking Painting, Photography, Works on Paper, Mixed Media, and Sculpture. Portfolios must feature work that scales elegantly into art fair architecture or translates seamlessly into fine art print reproductions and wearable designer merchandise.
Eligibility
- Career Stage: Open to contemporary creators at all professional benchmarks, whether emerging or fully established; prior art fair exhibition history is welcome but not mandatory.
- Location: Open globally to national and international artists. Because physical pieces can be shipped and media usage rights can be granted remotely, there are no geographic restrictions.
- Pricing & Alignment: Portfolios must feature structural work that naturally sits at accessible, consumer-friendly price points and demonstrates a market-ready aesthetic.
Program Benefits & Awards
- Roster Placement: Formal admission into Collective Z's curated talent pool for active, rolling consideration for all fall/winter 2026 and future commercial pipelines.
- Art Fair Curation: Targeted invitations to showcase work inside fully designed, curated booths at major regional and international art fairs.
- Direct-to-Consumer Drops: Opportunities to collaborate on high-end, limited-edition print editions and luxury wearable capsules produced under the gallery's commercial labels.
- End-to-End Logistical Support: Total operational handling by the gallery, covering everything from professional fair sales staffing to e-commerce fulfillment and collector relations.
Application Fee
- Program Cost: There is no cost to participate in the Direct-to-Consumer print or wearable merchandise initiatives.
- Art Fair Models: Art fair participation invitations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the venue and project footprint, select presentations may involve an upfront co-investment framework, but all financial options are presented transparently to artists before commitment. Roster artists maintain full agency to accept or decline individual invitations.
Application Requirements
Artists must fill out the centralized digital form completely. The submission parameters require:
- Dossier Text: Professional artist CV, brief biographical statements, typical artwork sizing descriptions, and current commercial sales avenues.
- Market & Pricing Profile: Clear declarations of standard studio retail price points (ranging from under $300 up to $5,000+).
- Visual Materials: Submission of high-resolution representative images titled precisely under the format “First Name_Last Name_Artwork Title”, or an uploaded multi-page PDF portfolio, or a direct link to an online shop displaying current retail pricing structure.
How to Apply?
All applications must be submitted digitally via the official Jotform link. Portfolios sent over social media channels, personal text streams, or directly to general inquiry mailboxes will not be integrated into the rolling review system.
- Application Link: Camp Z Program Jotform Application Portal
Key Dates
- Fall / Winter 2026 Batch Deadline: July 15, 2026
- Review Cycle: Rolling Selection (The gallery curatorial board reviews submissions continuously, providing formal admission decisions via email within 5 business days of submission).
Location
This program functions as a hybrid international infrastructure. Initial roster management, digital edition manufacturing, and administrative drops happen Online, while physical showcase booths deploy at art fairs in New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Toronto, Mexico City, and other major global art capitals.
Additional Details
Admission to the program roster is simply the foundational step and does not bind the artist to a fixed contract or automatic financial investments. Once an artist is accepted onto the roster, specific terms, sales commission splits, and logistical layouts are presented individually for each independent fair opportunity or edition drop, giving creators complete freedom over how they distribute their work.
