Organizer Information

The Association Chalet du Parc is a cultural initiative based in Lyon, France, operating within the iconic Parc de la Tête d’Or. Designed as a multidisciplinary cultural venue, the Chalet du Parc combines artistic programming, ecological awareness, and public engagement through exhibitions, workshops, and community-oriented events. The organization positions itself as a “living space” where culture, gastronomy, and environmental consciousness intersect.

This residency program is developed in partnership with Maison Gutenberg, a creative production and curatorial platform known for supporting contemporary artistic practices through exhibitions, publishing, and artist accompaniment. Maison Gutenberg plays a key role in providing curatorial, artistic, and technical support throughout the residency program. Together, the two entities aim to establish a sustainable creative ecosystem that fosters experimentation and dialogue around urgent ecological and societal issues.

Title & Description

Chalet du Parc Artistic Residency 2026–2027

The Chalet du Parc launches its inaugural call for three artistic residencies running across the 2026–2027 cultural season. These residencies are conceived as a laboratory for ecological and societal creation, inviting artists to develop research-driven projects that respond to contemporary environmental challenges and human behaviors.

Located in the heart of the Parc de la Tête d’Or in Lyon, the residency offers a unique context where artists engage directly with a vibrant public space, its ecosystems, and its diverse users—both human and non-human. Projects are expected to be rooted in the local territory of the Lyon Metropolis while maintaining a broader conceptual relevance.

Rather than purely didactic approaches, selected artists are encouraged to produce work that evokes emotion, stimulates reflection, and inspires action. Themes include urban nature, sustainable food systems, ecological practices, and everyday environmental responsibility.

The first residency (September–December 2026) may resonate with the concurrent exhibition “France, un album de famille” by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Hervé Le Bras, offering an additional contextual layer for artistic exploration.

Each residency culminates in a public exhibition lasting approximately one month, transforming the studio into a hybrid space of production and presentation.
