Applications are open for Commissioned Works for The Impact Book.

The Outside World Ⓡ is commissioning young artists to translate the themes of The Impact Book into visual interpretations. The book defines a vision of positive impact explored through six "ScEPTED" lenses: sociocultural, economic, political, technological, environmental, and demographic. Artists are invited to respond to one or more of these six themes with their own perspective, medium, and creative voice.

Eligibility:

  • Who: Young artists making an impact.
  • Education: No specific educational background is required.
  • Technical Deliverable: While all mediums are welcome to be used in the creation process, the final deliverable MUST be high-quality still images of your work, suitable for printing in the physical book and displaying digitally.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • Grant: A fixed fee of €500.
  • Exposure & Publication: Selected works will be prominently featured as the leading visual material in both the printed and digital editions of the book.
  • Editorial Feature: Your visuals will be accompanied by an artist statement and an interview about your impact perspective.
  • Networking: Opportunity to reach a broad international network of leaders, thinkers, and institutions, and collaborate with fellow artists, writers, and designers.

Application Requirements:

Applicants must review the concept chapters of The Impact Book (provided via a Google Drive link), choose their theme(s), and submit a proposal including:

  1. A short description of your concept (this does not need to be a finished work, but rather an outline of what you intend to make).
  2. Your chosen medium.
  3. Preliminary visuals or references.
  4. A short bio and contact details.
