Title & Description

Curator-Producer (Parental Leave Cover)

Edinburgh Art Festival is seeking a Curator-Producer (Parental Leave Cover) to support the delivery of its confirmed programme of exhibitions, events, and performances. This role focuses on the production, coordination, and realization of artistic projects, working closely with artists, partners, technical teams, venues, and internal departments.

The successful candidate will contribute to the planning and delivery of EAF27, supporting projects from initial preparation through installation, public presentation, and completion. Responsibilities include artist liaison, project scheduling, budget management, production planning, logistics coordination, and ensuring accessible and sustainable approaches to festival delivery.

This is a professional opportunity for an experienced curator or producer interested in contemporary visual art, interdisciplinary practice, and large-scale cultural programming.

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working effectively as a curator or producer of cultural or visual art projects.
  • Experience collaborating with a diverse range of artists, partners, and cultural organizations.
  • Strong project management, communication, budgeting, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and interest in contemporary visual art and interdisciplinary artistic practices.
  • Ability to work in the UK, as EAF cannot sponsor visas for this fixed-term role.

The Curator-Producer will coordinate EAF’s confirmed programme of exhibitions, events, and performances, including:

  • Managing relationships with commissioned artists and project partners.
  • Supporting production schedules, installation, and de-installation processes.
  • Coordinating technical requirements, contracts, travel, accommodation, and artist support.
  • Monitoring project budgets and timelines.
  • Supporting inclusive, accessible, and environmentally responsible production practices.
  • Managing the Programme & Events Assistant during the festival delivery period.

The role requires availability for increased working hours during the August 2027 festival period, including full-time festival delivery.
