The Future Generation Art Prize was established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009. Hosted by the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, Ukraine, the prize is supported by a distinguished board of patrons including Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, and Miuccia Prada. It is recognized globally as a springboard for emerging talent, with past winners including Lynette Yiadom-Boakye and Cinthia Marcelle.

Title & Description

Future Generation Art Prize – Eighth Edition.

This biannual global contemporary art prize is dedicated to discovering and providing long-term support to the next generation of artists. The prize serves as a major platform for young practitioners to produce new work, culminating in a shortlist exhibition at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv and potentially at the Venice Biennale. Shortlisted artists are commissioned to create new works for these prestigious international stages.

All Mediums, including Visual Art, Sculpture, Photography, Video, Installation, Digital Art, and Performance.

Eligibility

  • Age: Artists must be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
  • Location: Open to artists from anywhere in the world.
  • Medium: No restrictions on artistic medium.
  • Repeat Entry: Artists may apply multiple times across different editions, provided they have not previously won the main prize.

Program Benefits and Awards

  • Main Prize: USD $100,000 total ($60,000 cash prize + $40,000 investment in artistic practice).
  • Special Prizes: A total of USD $20,000 awarded to up to five artists for projects that develop their practice.
  • Shortlist Exhibition: Shortlisted artists (20 chosen from the open call + the PinchukArtCentre Prize winner) will exhibit their work in a curated showcase in Kyiv.
