Organizer Information

The Future Generation Art Prize was established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009. Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, the foundation is a private philanthropic organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of global leaders and supporting contemporary art through the PinchukArtCentre. Over the years, the Prize has supported the development of over 100 artists, featuring their work in major exhibitions in Kyiv and as official collateral events at the Venice Biennale.

Future Generation Art Prize 2026

This biannual global contemporary art prize is designed to discover, recognize, and provide long-term support to the next generation of artists. It serves as a major contribution to the open participation of young artists in the dynamic cultural development of societies in global transition. By emphasizing a strong commitment from leading international professionals, the prize aims to foster the future of art through large-scale production opportunities and international exposure.

Visual Arts (All categories and media are eligible, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, and performance).

Eligibility

  • Open to individual artists or collectives worldwide between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of application.
  • The prize is inclusive, with no restrictions concerning gender, nationality, race, or artistic medium. However, due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the prize currently does not accept applicants with Russian or Belarusian citizenship or residency.
  • Former winners are ineligible, but previous applicants may reapply multiple times if they still meet the age requirements.

Program Benefits & Awards

  • The Main Prize winner receives a total of $100,000, split between a $60,000 cash prize and a $40,000 investment in their artistic practice and production of new work.
  • Additionally, up to five Special Prizes may be awarded at the jury's discretion, with $20,000 allocated to fund artist-in-residency programs or specific project development.
  • Shortlisted artists gain the opportunity to exhibit at the PinchukArtCentre and potentially participate in prestigious international art events.

Application Fee

  • Registration and participation in the Prize is free of charge.

Application Requirements

  • Applicants must complete the official online form and upload a portfolio featuring between 3 and 7 original artworks.
  • Submissions must include photos or videos of the works meeting the size limitations, alongside a CV and personal details.
  • All works must be the participant's own, and they must hold full rights to the material. Once submitted, entries cannot be amended.
  • By applying, artists grant the organizers reproduction rights for promotional and archival purposes, including the exhibition catalogue and website.

Additional Details

  • A Selection Committee of seven experts, chosen by the Jury, will review all entries and nominate up to 20 artists for the short-listed exhibition.
  • While finalists bear the responsibility for producing their works, the organizers cover the costs of crating, transportation, and "nail-to-nail" insurance for shipping to and from Kyiv.
  • Selected artists must provide installation specifications at least two months before the exhibition opens and ensure their work remains available for the full duration of the show.
