Organizer Information
Fabian Lang founded his eponymous contemporary art gallery after more than a decade as director of two internationally recognized galleries and a curatorially driven project space in London, returning to his native Zurich to open his own space. The gallery launched during Zurich Art Weekend 2019 with a group exhibition featuring artists including Sara Anstis, Heidi Hahn, Mernet Larsen, Jessie Makinson, Wangechi Mutu, Mira Schor, and Grace Weaver, and is located in a historic townhouse in the Niederdorf district, directly behind the Kunsthaus Zürich. The space is spread across a ground-floor gallery of over 100 square metres and a basement level of roughly 30 square metres, with a rear terrace used for sculptural presentations. In 2022, Lang co-founded Zurich1, a community of galleries based in Zurich's District 1 around the Kunsthaus. The gallery curates and organizes four to six original exhibitions per year, combining group and solo presentations, and participates in two to four international art fairs annually.
