Through the GRADUS initiative, the festival aims to connect emerging creators with established cultural professionals and facilitate the development of new theatrical and performative works.
Title & Description
GRADUS II Edition – International Call for Participation
GRADUS II is a two-year artistic development and production program dedicated to emerging creators working in the field of live performance. The initiative focuses on intergenerational exchange, artistic experimentation, mentorship, and project development. The program is designed as a collaborative laboratory where young artists can engage directly with internationally recognized professionals from theatre, opera, music, cinema, choreography, and visual design.
The 2026 phase is centered on research, workshops, seminars, training sessions, and the refinement of artistic proposals. Selected participants will work closely with leading mentors and theatre directors to develop original projects that have not yet been produced or staged.
At the conclusion of the training phase, up to three projects will be selected for full production in 2027. These productions will become part of the official programming of major Italian performing arts festivals, including Festival Aperto, Festival Verdi, and Teatro Festival. The selected productions will receive institutional support and will be produced according to professional festival standards.
The initiative particularly encourages innovative approaches to dramaturgy, music theatre, opera, stage direction, choreography, and scenography, while fostering dialogue between emerging and established generations of artists.
