The Municipal Galleries of Tempelhof-Schöneberg in Berlin officially announce the Haus am Kleistpark Art Prize 2026. This long-standing award serves as a vital measure for supporting and promoting professional contemporary artists within the Berlin art community.

Haus am Kleistpark Art Award 2026.
This year’s overarching theme is "FRACTURE." The concept refers to breaks and cracks visible in both thematic questions and material processes. Artists are invited to explore fragmentation, instability, and the fragility of order—whether in social, cultural, or personal contexts—to reveal new forms, meanings, and transformations.

Eligibility
- Location: Must be a professional artist living in Berlin.
- Work Status: Works must have been created within the last three years.
- Restrictions: Previous winners from the last four years (2022–2025) and currently matriculated students are not eligible.
- Exhibition Ready: Selected work must be available for the entire exhibition duration.
Program Benefits and Awards
- Cash Prize: €5,000 awarded to the winner.
- Exhibition: Shortlisted artists will participate in a group exhibition at Haus am Kleistpark from September 25 to December 13, 2026.
- Recognition: Winner announcement and ceremony on September 24, 2026.
- Insurance: Original works are insured by the department once delivered for Stage 2.

- Application Fee: None.
Application Requirements (Stage 1 - Postal Only)
Applications must be submitted by post (max. DIN A4 size) and include:
- Visuals: 1 to 5 photos/prints of the work intended for the award. Films must be on a Windows-compatible USB stick (mp4, avi, mov).
- Technical Details: Technique, dimensions, year, and weight (for sculptures) on a single A4 page.
- Concept: Written project concept (max. 1 A4 page).
- CV: Artistic resume (max. 1 A4 page).
- Portfolio: 1 to 5 photos of previous work or a small catalog.
- Return: Include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for the return of Stage 1 documents.

Applications must be sent to the Haus am Kleistpark by mail. Digital-only applications (links/websites) are not sufficient. Address: HAUS am KLE, Grunewaldstraße 6-7, 10823 Berlin, Germany.

Additional Details
The jury is chaired by Franciska Zólyom (Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Leipzig). The selection process is two-staged: Stage 1 reviews portfolios/concepts, and Stage 2 requires the delivery of original works for final judging in September. All submitted works for Stage 2 must be dry and in perfect hanging condition.
