Organizer Information
House Opera – Electric Nights is an international contemporary electronic opera project initiated by cnc, an independent artist and producer, and developed in cultural and media partnership with organizations including KUD Ljiljan Zadar, Dragon Teatar, Zadar TV, Diadora TV, and Kontra Smjer. The project brings together electronic music, visual arts, and performative practices to explore contemporary themes surrounding technology, control, resistance, and collective experience.
Positioned at the intersection of club culture, experimental performance, and contemporary audiovisual production, House Opera – Electric Nights reimagines the opera format as a modern ritual space. The three-act electronic opera features a transnational group of vocal performers from Colombia, Argentina, Germany, Italy, and Poland, reflecting the project's international cultural framework.
Through this open call, the project seeks a visual artist, illustrator, graphic designer, or creative collective to develop the official visual identity of the opera. The selected artwork will become part of the project's public presentation, including album releases, digital platforms, promotional materials, and potential exhibition activities.
Title & Description
House Opera – Electric Nights: International Open Call for Visual Identity
House Opera – Electric Nights invites Visual Arts practitioners, illustrators, graphic designers, and creative collectives worldwide to submit proposals for the official visual identity of a contemporary electronic opera project.
The project explores the relationship between electronic music, club culture, performance, and visual storytelling. Inspired by the idea of clubs as contemporary ritual spaces, House Opera – Electric Nights examines themes of technology, social control, resistance, and collective human experience.
Applicants are invited to create an original cover artwork and supporting visual materials that respond to the sonic world of the opera. Artists are encouraged to listen to the instrumental version of the album and translate its atmosphere, concepts, and emotional landscape into a compelling visual language.
The selected artist or collective will collaborate with the project team to adapt the chosen artwork for different formats, including digital platforms, physical releases, social media communication, promotional materials, and audiovisual content.
The open call welcomes submissions from individual artists and creative groups working across disciplines such as Graphic Design, illustration, digital art, and contemporary visual communication. Previous experience with opera or music-related projects is not required.
