Organizer Information:
Centrale Fies, in collaboration with Viafarini, created LIVE WORKS in 2013 as a platform dedicated to contemporary live practices. Based in Dro, Italy, the program functions as a "Free School of Performance," supporting the practical and theoretical exploration of the boundaries of the performing arts.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the 14th edition of LIVE WORKS – Free School of Performance.
The program offers multiple creative residency periods to 6 selected projects. It views performance as a "workspace" for hybrid research, focusing on the social and political implications of the performative. The open call welcomes a wide range of actions, including sound and new media arts, text-based performances, lecture performances, multimedia storytelling, choreographic practices, and relational/workshop-based projects.

Eligibility:
- Who: Individual artists or groups.
- Age/Geography: No age limits and open to artists from any geographic location.
- Project Status: Only unpublished or long-term projects that need to be developed/concluded are accepted. Participation must represent an evolution of the project or its final chapter.
Program Benefits & Awards:
The 6 selected projects will receive:
- Financial Support: An annual fellowship of €3,000.
- Travel & Living: Travel costs to reach the venue, as well as food and accommodation during all residency periods and the Kick-Off Seminar, are fully covered.
- Residency Structure: * Participation in a 3-day Kick-Off Seminar (July 17–19, 2026).
- A 2-week individual residency at Centrale Fies (between Sept and Dec 2026).
- A collective residency with all selected artists in Summer 2027.
- Exhibition: Presentation of the final performance during the Live Works Summit 2027.
- Curatorial Support: Studio visits, critical sessions, and reading groups.

€10 EUR (Non-refundable registration fee. Must be paid via PayPal or Bank Transfer at the time of application).

- Portfolio: Including a statement (brief description of objectives, issues, and methodologies) and CV (Max 10MB PDF in English or Italian).
- Project Description: An abstract of the performance project to be developed, including images (Max 3 A4 pages, Max 10MB PDF in English or Italian).
- Work Samples (Optional): Links to external audiovisual material (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.) with passwords if needed.
