Art on 30th / Ashton Gallery is an 8,000-square-foot, two-story art center in San Diego focused on community, artistic development, exhibitions, and education. It offers art classes and professional opportunities for artists at different stages and hosts an annual national exhibition designed to connect artists with San Diego art buyers and audiences.

Point of Hue: 12th Annual National Exhibition
Point of Hue: 12th Annual National Exhibition invites artists from across the United States to explore the expressive and transformative power of color. The exhibition considers color as a tool for shaping mood, communicating ideas, telling stories, and influencing perception.
Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly, whether working through bold and vibrant palettes, subtle or restrained approaches, abstraction, realism, or other artistic styles. The exhibition welcomes a wide range of genres and mediums, offering artists an opportunity to present original work to a San Diego audience of art enthusiasts and potential buyers.
The exhibition will be juried by Daniel Foster, who has a 30-year career in arts and museum leadership in Southern California.

Both 2D and eligible 3D artworks are accepted.
Eligibility
The opportunity is open to artists across the United States. All submitted works must be the artist’s original work and must be available for sale with a stated price. Two-dimensional artwork must measure between 10 and 72 inches; three-dimensional artwork must be suitable for display on a pedestal. Photography, fabric works, and journal pages are also eligible if appropriately prepared for hanging.
Program Benefits & Awards
Selected artists will have their work exhibited at Ashton Gallery in San Diego during the national exhibition. The juror will select:
- Best in Show
- 1st Place
- Juror’s Choice
- Two Honorable Mentions
A total of $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. All award winners receive a double-page spread in the exhibition catalog, while the Best in Show winner will additionally have their artwork featured on the catalog cover.
Artists whose work sells will be subject to a 50% gallery commission.
Application Fee
The entry fee is $40 for one artwork. Each additional entry costs $5, with a maximum of six artworks per artist. Entry fees do not guarantee acceptance and are used to cover the cost of hosting the national exhibition.

Additional Details
Accepted physical artworks must be wired and ready to hang using two D-rings on the back. Eyelet screws, buckles, and sawtooth hangers are not compatible with the gallery’s hanging system. Artists must also place their name/signature, artwork title, size, and medium on the back of the artwork. Works marked NFS (Not for Sale) will not be juried.
