Title & Description

Remai Modern x Cité internationale des arts Residency Program 2027 – Paris Research & Creation Residency

The Remai Modern x Cité internationale des arts Residency Program is an international opportunity supporting artists and curators connected to Saskatchewan who wish to undertake a three-month research and creation residency in Paris, France.

Running from January 5 to March 27, 2027, the program provides selected residents with the time, infrastructure, funding, and professional support necessary to develop an independent artistic or curatorial project while immersed in one of Europe’s most influential cultural capitals.

Three selected participants will receive studio accommodation at the Cité internationale des arts, alongside financial support covering living expenses, research and production costs, and international travel. Residents will join a vibrant community of over 300 artists representing multiple disciplines, generations, and nationalities.

The residency encourages participants to engage critically with the Parisian art ecosystem while developing projects connected to contemporary artistic practice, interdisciplinary research, and cultural dialogue. In addition to independent studio work, participants will gain access to open studios, professional meetings with curators and critics, and networking opportunities facilitated by the Cité’s international network.

The program strongly emphasizes research-driven artistic development and supports projects that specifically benefit from being situated in Paris, whether through institutional access, local collaborations, archives, or engagement with the city’s artistic communities.
