The Sonntag Grant is a Berlin-based, grassroots non-profit organization launched in 2025. It is dedicated to supporting FLINTA (female, lesbian, inter, non-binary, trans, agender) photographers through annual grants and professional publication opportunities.

Sonntag Grant Photobook Open Call.

In collaboration with Replika Publishing, this initiative seeks photography projects that challenge the boundaries of the book as a form. The grant prioritizes under-recognized voices and projects rooted in conceptual depth, offering a dedicated path to publication for work that explores material inquiry and artistic dialogue.

Eligibility

Open globally to all artists within the FLINTA community aged 18 and older.

Program Benefits & Awards

  • One selected artist will work with Replika Publishing to produce a new photobook with a minimum print run of 350 copies, receiving 50 copies for themselves.
  • The grant includes a book launch event at Bildband Berlin, with accommodation and travel support up to €300 provided.

Application Fee

  • €10 submission fee, payable via credit card on the organization’s website.

Application Requirements

  • Applicants must provide a short biography (max 200 words), a project description (max 500 words), and a download link containing 15–20 low-resolution images (72 dpi).
  • Projects should be at an advanced or finished stage of development.

How to Apply

Applicants must first pay the submission fee on the website to receive a unique order number. This number is required to complete the official online submission form at sonntag-grant.org.

Key Dates

  • Submissions open April 1, 2026.
  • The application deadline is May 31, 2026, at midnight (CET).
  • The selected artist will be announced within 2–3 months after the closing date.

Online for submissions; the book launch event will take place in Berlin, Germany.

Additional Details

The organizers are looking for projects rather than fully designed dummies. The selected artist must be open to a collaborative editorial and design process with Replika Publishing. Please ensure that image download links remain active for at least 7 days.
