Sony World Photography Awards 2027 – International Photography Competition
The Sony World Photography Awards 2027 marks the 20th anniversary edition of one of the world’s most prestigious photography competitions. The program invites photographers at all career stages to submit work across multiple categories and formats, celebrating excellence in contemporary Photography and visual storytelling.
The competition is divided into three main strands: Series (formerly Professional), Single Image (formerly Open), Student, and Youth. Each category is designed to reflect different creative approaches—from long-form narrative Photography series to single impactful images and emerging student projects.
Participants are encouraged to explore a wide range of themes including documentary storytelling, portraiture, architecture, wildlife, street photography, and conceptual imagery. The 2027 edition introduces new categories such as Histories (Series) and Animal Portraits (Single Image), expanding the thematic scope of the competition.
