Lottozero Textile Art Factory. Developed with the Prato Textile Museum and Studio Corte 17, and supported by the Tuscany Regional Program FSE+ 2021–2027. This project merges contemporary art with textile practices, fostering non-formal training, research, and production.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the Textile Art Factory Curatorial Residency.
This open call will select one curator for a six-month residency in Prato. The selected candidate will gain access to Lottozero’s textile lab, the Museo del Tessuto’s archives, and Studio Corte 17’s industrial network. The residency includes workshops, theoretical sessions, mentoring, and studio visits. The selected curator will curate a group exhibition with four resident artists and contribute to the realization of the exhibition catalogue.

Eligibility:
- Age Requirement: Applicants MUST be aged between 18 and 35 (under 36 on the closing date of the call).
- Education Requirement: Must be in possession of at least a high school diploma.
- Employment Status: Applicants MUST be unemployed, unoccupied, inactive, OR employed with the intention of starting a self-employed or entrepreneurial activity in the cultural sector.
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must NOT be enrolled in any study or training courses at the same time as the residency.
- Language Requirement: Foreign citizens MUST possess knowledge of the Italian language at least at level B1.

- Funding Note: Because this is an open call for a specific, publicly supported project (Tuscany Regional Program), the residency is free by invitation/selection.
- Professional Development: Includes theoretical sessions (art history, curatorial strategies, cultural project design, conservation/restoration, legislation, and communication), mentoring, and networking with local manufacturers and artisans.
- Workspace & Accommodation: Access to Lottozero’s coworking space, textile library, and shared facilities. (Note: Accommodation details are arranged with the organizers; Lottozero offers on-site apartments/coliving).
- Culmination: The opportunity to curate a group exhibition and contribute to its catalogue.
