The Sammlung Hoffmann (Hoffmann Collection) is a private art collection in Berlin featuring works from the 1920s to the 2010s. Displayed in the residential and studio spaces of Erika and Corinna Hoffmann since 1997, the collection hosts annual presentations that relate art history to contemporary social issues.

Time With Sophie Gips 2026.
This program awards two working grants to artists for the development of new works created in dialogue with the Hoffmann Collection’s upcoming presentation. Scholars are invited to engage with the thematic framework of the annual presentation (October 17, 2026 – October 2027) or individual works within the collection. The program emphasizes independent, self-organized research and provides a unique setting for showing work within ongoing collection rooms.

Eligibility
- Location: Open exclusively to artists living in Berlin.
- Professional Status: All artistic practices and media are welcome; a degree in art and previous exhibition experience are desirable.

Program Benefits and Awards
- Grant Amount: €5,000 gross per recipient. This covers the honorarium, production, and transport costs.
- Exhibition Opportunity: Works will be presented in the collection rooms from January to October 2027.
- Public Engagement: Invitation to a public artist talk or lecture within the collection.
- Ownership: The resulting work remains the property of the artist.

Application Requirements
- Letter of Motivation: (1–2 pages) focusing on your interest in dialogue with collections.
- Portfolio: (PDF, max 20 pages, max 3 MB) including descriptions of work and/or links to audio/video files.

- Optional Project Outline: (1–2 pages) addressing the upcoming presentation concept.

Additional Details
Funding is paid in two installments: €3,000 at the start (November 2026) and €2,000 following the dismantling and return transport (October 2027). No further costs can be claimed beyond the initial grant.
