Organizer Information
ZAMEK Culture Centre is one of Poland's largest cultural institutions, based in a former imperial castle in Poznań that was built in the early 20th century as a residence for Kaiser Wilhelm II. Today the centre hosts around 2,500 events per year, showcasing and stimulating the most interesting developments in contemporary culture through visual arts, theatre, film, music, and literature. Its flagship annual events include the Ethno Port Poznań music festival, Forum Without Barriers on accessible cinema, and the Poznań Poetów and Fabuła Festival literary events. The centre also runs an established artist-in-residence programme, and its Public Programmes Department develops educational initiatives connecting culture and school education. ZAMEK positions itself as an interdisciplinary institution dedicated to fostering artistic experimentation and direct exchange between artists and the public.
Title & Description
Art Residencies 2027 — ZAMEK Culture Centre
This is an open call for artistic projects to be developed as part of ZAMEK Culture Centre's 2027 residency programme in Poznań, Poland. The programme supports either a conceptual residency, in which the artist works on a project or part of a project without an obligation to complete or present a final outcome, or an operational residency, which concludes with a public artistic event such as an exhibition, concert, or film screening. Beyond the creative work itself, the residency places strong emphasis on the artist's presence at ZAMEK and their interaction with the public, and favors projects that take the nature and functioning of the institution into account, including accessibility solutions for diverse audience groups.
