Organizer Information

The ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS, in cooperation with the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media, supports professional artists and strengthens Hamburg’s position as an international center for culture and the arts. Since the 2019/20 scholarship year, the foundation has enabled additional funding for visual artists in Hamburg through this program. Each year, seven scholarships are awarded to artists or long-term artistic groups whose previous work demonstrates a high level of artistic quality.

The program is designed around artistic freedom rather than a narrowly defined theme or discipline. An expert jury evaluates applications primarily according to the quality of the applicant’s previous artistic work and the quality of the proposed artistic project. For the 2027 scholarship year, seven outstanding artists or artistic groups will each receive €10,000.
