The Skopelos Foundation for the Arts (SkopArt) is a non-profit organization located on the island of Skopelos, Greece. Established to promote the visual arts and cross-cultural education, the Foundation provides a sanctuary for artists to explore and reflect within a unique island community. The mission is centered on cultural exchange, inspired by the diverse flora, fauna, and local citizens of the Northern Sporades.

2027 SkopArt Alumni Residency.
This two-week program is designed as a focused retreat for artists to invigorate their practice in a calm, supportive environment. Rather than a site for mass production, the residency acts as a spark for new ideas and shifts in artistic direction. Residents work within a cohort of fellow creatives, engaging in a dialogue that bridges traditional island living with contemporary artistic exploration.

Eligibility
- Alumni Status: Participation is strictly limited to artists who have previously completed a residency at the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts.
- Proficiency: Residents must have a solid working knowledge of their medium and respective studio equipment to work independently.
- Physical & Social: Applicants must be able to navigate island terrain and interact with fellow artists in a positive, supportive manner.

Application Fee
- Submission Fee: $10 non-refundable fee via SlideRoom.
- Participation Fees (Excludes Housing): Painting/Mixed Media: $1,000
- Writers: $1,000 (Max 5 people)
- Printmaking: $1,400 (Supplies included except paper/plates)
- Ceramics/Sculpture: $1,500 (Includes low-fire supplies and 2 shared firings)
Application Requirements
- Proposal: A residency project proposal with a coherent rationale relevant to cultural exchange.
- Portfolio: 6 to 10 images of current work.
- Reference: One character reference.
- Approved Artists: Must submit a Health Addendum, Signed Community Conduct Agreement, and a $500 non-refundable deposit.

Key Dates
- Application Window: April 15 – May 15, 2026.
- Notification: Approved artists will be asked for follow-up paperwork and a deposit.
- Residency Periods: Various 2-week blocks from April 19 to October 19, 2027.

Additional Details
The ceramics studio only supports low-fire work (no high-fire or production pottery). Printmaking does not support etching at this time. Artists are responsible for transporting their work home; due to current postal restrictions, US-based artists are strongly encouraged to pack finished works in their suitcases as the local post office is not shipping to the US.
