Centrale Fies, in collaboration with Palazzo Grassi-Pinault Collection Venice, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Razzismo Brutta Storia, and Black History Month Florence (BHMF). LIVE WORKS is a platform dedicated to live contemporary practices that contributes to the deepening and broadening of the idea of performance.

Applications are open for the 5th Agitu Ideo Gudeta Fellowship for LIVE WORKS - Free School of Performance.
Created to foster diversity and combat ethno-racial discrimination in performative artistic research, this fellowship is dedicated to the memory of Agitu Ideo Gudeta. The program welcomes individual or collective artistic projects for a residency, research, and promotion path. The call is open to a wide range of performative actions, including sound and new media arts, text-based performances, multimedia storytelling, choreographic practices, and relational/workshop-based projects.

Eligibility:
- Who: Artists or professionals who identify as racialized subjects, individuals belonging to ethnic minorities, or subjects with a migratory background.
- Geographic Connection: Applicants must have a strong bond with Italy (born or raised in Italy, recognizing a connection to the Italian cultural context regardless of legal status or current international residence). Italian citizenship is not required.
- Project Status: The call only accepts unpublished or long-term projects that need to be developed and/or concluded. Individuals or groups may only submit one project.
- Education & Age: There is no age limit. Self-taught artists and those without formal artistic education are strongly encouraged to apply.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Fellowship Grant: €3,000.00.
- Residencies: * A 2-week individual residency at Centrale Fies (between Sept–Dec 2026).
- A collective residency at Centrale Fies in the summer of 2027.
- Travel & Accommodation: Travel costs, food, and accommodation are fully covered for both residency periods.
- Networking & Exhibition: Participation in the Kick Off Seminar (July 17-19, 2026) and a final presentation of the performance during the Live Works Summit 2027.
- Institutional Meetings: In-person and online meetings with teams from Palazzo Grassi-Pinault Collection and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.
Application Requirements:
Applicants must fill out the online Wufoo form and attach:
- Portfolio & CV: Including a personal statement. (Max 10MB compressed folder, PDF format. Languages: English, Italian, or French).
- Project Description: Max three A4 pages including abstract/images. (Max 10MB compressed folder, PDF format).
- Audiovisual Links (Optional): Hosted on external servers (Vimeo, YouTube) with passwords if necessary.
