Assistant Director Position – La Nueva Fábrica (2026)

La Nueva Fábrica is seeking an Assistant Director to join its leadership team in a strategic and operational capacity. This full-time Job role is designed for an experienced cultural manager capable of bridging curatorial thinking with institutional coordination, production oversight, and organizational leadership.

The Assistant Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Chief Curator to support the daily functioning of the institution, ensuring coherence across exhibitions, Public Programs, residencies, educational initiatives, communications, and administrative operations.

This role is central to strengthening internal workflows, improving institutional systems, and ensuring alignment between curatorial vision and operational execution. It requires a strong understanding of Curatorial processes, cultural programming, and organizational management within contemporary art institutions.

Position & Tasks

Institutional Leadership & Operations
  • Oversee daily operations of La Nueva Fábrica
  • Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and workflows
  • Maintain institutional planning systems and communication structures
  • Resolve operational bottlenecks and ensure workflow efficiency
  • Support long-term institutional strategy and execution
Programming Oversight
  • Supervise the implementation of exhibitions, Residencies, and public programs
  • Coordinate curatorial development with the leadership team
  • Manage production schedules, budgets, contracts, and logistics
  • Ensure integration across programming, education, and exhibitions
  • Maintain quality and accessibility of public-facing content
Team Coordination
  • Act as a central coordination point for internal workflows

Eligibility

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in cultural institutions or arts organizations
  • Experience in Curatorial, exhibition, or cultural programming roles
  • Background in arts administration, production, or institutional management
  • Strong experience in team coordination and project management
  • Ability to work across exhibitions, Residency, and public programs
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (mandatory)
  • Experience in budgeting, reporting, and operational management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
